X GLOO - the company

X GLOO is both a system provider and a solution finder for pneumatic textile structures. The inflatable event tents and resue tents from X GLOO have been conquering the market worldwide since 2007.
X GLOO 3DTEX, the brand new patented innovation, creates new pneumatic textile structures that are used in vehicle-based room extensions in the camping industry.

You are welcome to visit us in Marquartstein in Chiemgau. Please contact us in advance so that we can plan enough time for you.

Our customers are international manufacturers of motorhomes and caravans. Hymer and Bürstner already have vehicles with our solutions in use.

In the caravanning segment, we currently sell exclusively to OEM customers.

X GLOO employs around 70 people, including its subsidiary Matotex.

X GLOO 3DTEX

X GLOO 3DTEX is a patented pneumatic textile fabric from X GLOO. When inflated, it forms a precisely definable 3D structure with enormous stability and static holding power. X GLOO 3DTEX is mechanically highly resilient, UV and weather resistant.

Yes, our patent relates to the material X GLOO 3DTEX.

The material consists of polyester fabric with a UV-resistant and solvent-free PU coating.

X GLOO 3DTEX is extremely robust and can lift and hold heavy loads. It is opaque, temperature-insulating, sound-absorbing, UV-resistant and waterproof.

The transfer coefficient for X GLOO 3DTEX is 2,82 W/m²/K

The thickness is basically variable and can be customised according to customer requirements and also depends on how much weight the fabric is to bear. The thickness influences the stability of the structure.
Guide value: 800g/sqm2; 7-9 cm thickness

The lifting capacity depends on the following factors: Strength of the material, overall height, roof construction, weight distribution, is the material interrupted e.g. by windows;
‘What we can say: There is no roof construction that can lift more weight!’

-20 to +70 degrees (confirmed by tests in the climate chamber)

Yes, the material is UV resistant.

Basically: excellent!
Customers have carried out wind tunnel tests up to wind force 12.

Extensive water tightness tests were carried out as well as tests at -18°C and +40°C outside temperature, individual component tests up to +100°C.

Depending on use, the material has a service life of 10 years and has been tested with 2000 test cycles.
Outdoor weathering tests and climate chamber tests have been carried out.

Reference conventional lifting roof: when completely evacuated, an installation space of approx. 40 mm is required.

Different colours are possible for both the coating and the yarn.

Printing can be provided on request.

Many different structures are possible.

The development team is currently working on further colour and texture variants of X GLOO 3DTEX as well as on further weight reduction while maintaining the same function.

This must be compared and assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Pneumatic pop up roof application

No, this is not possible. A filling pressure of 150-200mbar prevails during operation. The pump can deliver up to 300mbar. The burst pressure of the roofs is 1400mbar.

The pneumatic lifting roof is controlled electronically via a control panel, the vehicle electronics or an app, as required.
The mattresses can be inflated automatically and the firmness level can be selected.
more information

Advantages of X GLOO 3DTex bellows:

  • Better temperature insulation
  • Better sound insulation
  • Stable space, you can lean against the inside
  • No flapping of the fabric in the wind.
  • Roof is held in place by the air pressure of the lifting bellows.

Yes, you can lean against it from the inside. The walls hold up to 30 kg shear force.

The system consists of the lifting roof and an intelligent pneumatic system that continuously monitors the pressure and pumps it up if necessary.

Depending on the vehicle type, the set-up time is approx. 90 - 120 seconds.

Depending on the size of the fabric bellows and the size and number of mattresses used, it takes between 1.5 and 3 minutes to lower the roof.

Theoretically, closing is possible using gravity alone, but this takes too long. The air is therefore completely or partially extracted.

There is no child safety lock for the controls.
There is a padlock on the large windows and doors.

At present, the pop up roofs is only available from selected motorhome manufacturers such as Hymer and Bürstner. We are working with other manufacturers to gradually expand the range.
This also includes retrofit solutions for various vehicle types.

Pneumatic

If the vehicle electronics or the pneumatics fail, a standard lift pump can be used to pump the vehicle manually.
If the battery voltage of 12V falls below 10.5V, the pump will no longer work. In this case, the pump can be supplied via the alternator when the vehicle is started.

It depends. If a drain valve is installed, it can be opened and the roof will slowly lower.

The pump requires 12 V and must be fused for at least 35 amps. When starting up, the pump requires a larger amount of current, but then only runs for 1.5 - 3 minutes. If the battery voltage of 12V falls below 10.5V, the pump will no longer function. In this case, the pump can be supplied via the alternator when the vehicle is started.

The pump operates at the same noise level as other devices such as the heating system.

The pump draws its power from the vehicle battery.

It has KBA approval and can therefore be permanently installed in the vehicle.

Inflatable mattress

Yes, depending on the control unit, you can choose between 3 and 5 degrees of hardness.

Between 25 and 60 mbar, depending on the degree of hardness selected.

Approx. 2 cm high, the surface remains the same.

Care and Repair

The roof can be rinsed off with a garden hose and cleaned with soapy water and a sponge if necessary.

Use a garden hose to spray the roof.

A repair kit is supplied with every roof sold.

In this case, the secure system comes into play: each lifting roof consists of several air chambers.
If one air chamber is damaged, the other air chambers will continue to hold the lifting roof in place.
Minor damage can be repaired using the repair kit supplied.

Individual chambers cannot be replaced. However, minor damage can be repaired using the repair kit supplied.

Yes, but it shortens the service life. We therefore recommend cleaning the roof after your holiday.

Ventilation slots or small cut-outs with mesh were installed for ventilation.

Yes, condensation water can freeze. This will not damage the roof or the lifting bellows.

It is designed for at least 2,000 cycles. Depending on the outside temperature, 3-5 cycles can be run in quick succession, after which the pump must cool down briefly for approx. 5 minutes. There is an integrated temperature monitor for this purpose.
